The interactive system can be used to generate the best location system for a workholder and also assist with the positioning of supports and clamps in order to minimise the influence of the machining forces.Item Floating ADC method for series- parallel A/D conversion(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 1987) Tütüncüoğlu, Ergür; Mühendislik FakültesiIn this paper, a fully integrable 8 bit series-parallel AD converter based on a new "floating ADC" principle is presented. Cross-plot tests of the experimental converter revealed that the differential nonlinearity of the 8 bit system will be less than ± LSB for an analog input voltage of fV pp· A converter of this type provides a good alternative to the all parallel system at sampling frequencies up to 100 M Hz. when chip size and power dissipation must be reduced.Item The investigation of the effecfs of fatigue on the residual strength of composite materials(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 1987) Ülkü, Sedat; Mühendislik FakültesiThis paper presents the results of an investigation into the effects of fatigue on the residual strength of a 0°/90° CFRP composite. Cycling was carried out at five different stress levels over a range of 60 % to 90 % of the ultimate tensile strength of the composite. For a given stress level a relationship has been derived between the residual strength and the fatigue life of the composite. This relationship the fatigue characteristics for any given stress level without the need for time consuming and expensive testing. The theoretical work is subdivided into classical and finite element methods. General principles and design guidelines are also presented.The load carrying joints in composite materials can be affected by two basic methods is mechanical fastening or adhesive bonding. This work is seen to be related mainly to theoretical results, derived either from classical analytical or finite element methods. The various approaches are compared with each other arıd, wlıere possible, willı experimental data.This work, mostly theoretical, relating to all aspects of adhesively bonded joints in composite materials is reviewed. The theoretical work is subdivided into classical and finite element methods.
