Item Hızlı üretken reaktörlerde kaza sonrası plutonyum aktivitesi ve kaçağı(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 1984) Kırbıyık, Mehmet; Mühendislik Fakültesi; Makina Mühendisliği BölümüIn the present study, radioactive plutonium isotope activities in inner and outer containment atmaspheres and time dependence if the change in the amount of plutonium isotopes released to the environment from the outer containment were calculated using an analytical method following the hypothetical core-disruptive accident in liquid metal (sodium) cooled fast breeder reactors. Calculations were made for 400 MW Fast Test Reactor whose fuel 7 % vaporized in the accident. lt was found that the radioactive plutonium concentration in each containment atmosphere was 10 13 times greater than the maximum permissible plutonium concentration in air, following the accident. The results show that the total leakage of the plutonium isotopes approximately increases asa lineer function of time. The total amount of plutonium released to the environment is approximately 22 Ci for 1,5 x 10 2 second and 430 Ci for 3 x 10 3 second.
