    Free vibration analysis of mixed supported beam

    In this study, the free vibration of a Euler-Bernoulli beam with rotating and transitional springs at both ends has been investigated. According to different spring coefficients, frequency tables and mode shapes have been created for both symmetric and non-symmetric cases. By changing spring constants, many conditions have been examined and interpreted. It has been found that the effect of spring constants on frequencies is extremely low at high frequencies and the difference between two frequencies approaches to a constant value.

    Damped vibration of a cracked Timoshenko beam with ends supported with damper, linear and rotational springs is investigated. Frequencies in complex forms have been obtained for both cracked Euler-Bernoulli and Timoshenko beams. Depending upon the crack-depth and crack-location, frequencies have been tabulated in each case. The results have also been compared in terms of the ratio of the beam depth to the beam length. Modal shapes for various conditions have also been plotted.
