Arap dilinde Ezdâd olgusu

Abstract

İki zıt anlama gelebilen veya sahip olduğu iki anlam birbiriyle çelişen sözcük manasındaki Ezdâd, kapalılığın veya yanlış anlamanın bağlama dikkat edilerek giderildiği sözcük anlamına gelmektedir. İşte bu konu, hicri ikinci asrın sonlarından itibaren dilbilimle ilgilenenlerin çalışma sahasına girmiştir. Bu makalede ezdâdın tanımı, ortaya çıkma sebepleri, bu konuda dilbilimle uğraşanların görüşleri ve eserleri üzerinde durulup, Kur’an’da ezdâddan kabul edilen kelimeler ve ayetlerle konu açıklanmaya çalışılacaktır.

An auto-antonym or contronym is a word which contradicts itself in the sense that it has two opposite meanings. In most cases, the contexts in which Arabic auto-antonyms occur contribute to avoiding misinterpretation and ambiguity. By the end of the second century, this issue entered into the field of those engaged in philology. In this article, it will be focused on the definition of auto-antonyms, the reasons for the emergence, ideas and works of Arab semanticists. This issue also will be explained by the words known as auto-antonyms and the verses from the Qur’ān.
