Abstract
White nectarines are the endemic genotype grown in Canakkale which have the unique characteristics of desirable and rich flavor. In recent years, a significant increase has been recorded in the production of white nectarines, due to being recognized in the domestic market and the consumer choice. White nectarines with high quality are the orginal material for development of new stone fruits varieties. In this research, white nectarine types have been hybridized with plum, peach, almond and apricot varieties, and nectarine varieties and investigated the genetic relationship with the Prunus species. The fruit set ratio and some pomological characters of the hybrids were investigated. For this purpose, 19046 flowers were pollinated with 94 combinations in 2008-2011. As a result of these studies, the highest fruit set ratio 26.10% has been obtained from the white nectarine X plum combination.
