5. Sınıf Sosyal Bilgiler ders kitabının (2017) değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Eğitim-öğretim sürecinin önemli materyallerinden biri olan ders kitaplarının, ideal ders kitaplarına dönüşmesi için yapılması gerekenler arasında ders kitaplarının bazı özellikler açısından incelenmesi de yer alır. Bu araştırmanın amacı, 2017-2018 eğitim-öğretim yılında uygulanan yeni öğretim programı doğrultusunda hazırlanan 5. sınıf Sosyal Bilgiler ders kitabının fiziksel, eğitsel, görsel tasarım, dil ve anlatım özellikleri açısından incelenmesidir. Bu çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman incelemesi ve içerik analizi kullanılmıştır. Yapılan incelemeler sonucunda 5. sınıf Sosyal Bilgiler ders kitabının önceki ders kitaplarından fiziksel, görsel ve eğitsel açılardan belirgin şekilde farklılık gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir. Ünite sayısının düşürülmüş olması, öğrenci çalışma kitabının kaldırılmış olması, çalışma kitabında yer alan etkinliklerin ders kitabında bulunması eğitsel açıdan görülen önemli değişiklerdendir. Görsel tasarım açısından kitabın kâğıt kalitesinin çok iyi olması, kitapta kullanılan görsellerin canlı ve dikkat çekici olması yeni ders kitabını üstün kılan özelliklerdendir. Yapılan değişikliklerle yeni ders kitabının, eğitim-öğretim faaliyetlerini olumlu şekilde etkileyebilecek düzeyde hazırlandığını söylemek mümkündür.

In order to text books being one of the most important materials of education process are transformed to ideal text books, examining text books in terms of some features also plays a part among things to do. The aim of this research is to investigate Social Studies text book prepared in accordance with new curriculum in 2017 – 2018 education year for 5th grades students in the sense of physical, educational, visual design, language and manner of telling features. In this research, document review and content analysis being from quantitative research methods are used. In consequence of research conducted, it is clear that new Social Studies text book for 5th grade students is different from previous text books with regards to physical, visual and educational features. Sighted important variables in terms of educational qualities are decreasing the number of units, extinguishing students’ work book and locating activities which were in the work book to the text book. Being excel of quality paper of the book, being vivacious and attractive of visuals used in the book are from features making new text book superior in the sense of visual design. With the alterations made, it is possible to say that new text book is prepared at the level of influencing education activities positively.
