Ortaokul öğrencilerinin kentsel çevre algısı: Bursa örneği

Abstract

Ortaokul öğrencilerinin Bursa ili örneğinde kentsel çevre algılarını belirlemeyi amaçlayan bu araştırma nitel araştırma yönteminde, fenomenoloji deseninde tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu 2023-2024 eğitim öğretim yılı Bursa il merkezinde bulunan bir ortaokulun 5, 6, 7. ve 8. sınıfında öğrenim görmekte olan 12 kadın, 12 erkek toplamda 24 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verileri 12.02.2024-23.02.2024 tarihleri arasında, çalışma grubunu oluşturan öğrencilerin uygun oldukları zaman dilimleri içinde, her bir öğrenciyle yapılan yüz yüze görüşmeler sonucunda toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Veri analizinin son aşamasında veriler kodlar, alt temalar ve temalar şeklinde tablolarla sunulmuş, doğrudan alıntılarla desteklenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, öğrencilerinin Bursa kentine yönelik olumlu görüşlerinin şehir imajı, doğal ve tarihi güzellikler, sosyal ve ekonomik faktörler, ulaşım ve altyapı imkânları ile çevresel faktörler başlıkları altında toplandığı tespit edilmiştir. Öğrencilerinin Bursa kentine yönelik eleştirileri çevre ve iklim problemleri, ulaşım ve altyapı sorunları, nüfus ve yoğunluk, insan davranışları ve iletişim ile şehir imajı başlıkları altında toplanmıştır. Öğrencilerin Bursa'daki trafik ve ulaşım sorunlarını hem tespit edip somut öneriler sunduklarını hem de bu durumun kendilerinde yarattığı olumsuz duyguları belirgin şekilde dile getirdikleri görülmektedir. Öğrencilerin çevre sorunlarına dair farkındalıklarının yüksek olduğu ve bu sorunların kendilerinde yarattığı olumsuz duyguları net bir şekilde ortaya koydukları görülmüştür. Öğrencilerin Bursa'ya yönelik geniş bir perspektif sunduklarını ve şehrin çeşitli yönlerini ve duygusal bağlarını resimlerine yansıttıklarını göstermektedir.This research, which aims to determine secondary school students' perceptions of the urban environment in the example of Bursa province, was designed with a qualitative research method and phenomenology pattern. The study group of the research consists of a total of 24 students, 12 females and 12 males, studying in the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades of a secondary school in the city center of Bursa in the 2023-2024 academic year. A semi-structured interview form developed by the researchers was used as a data collection tool in the study. The research data was collected between 12.02.2024 and 23.02.2024, as a result of face-to-face interviews with each student, within the time periods available to the students in the study group. Content analysis method was used to analyze the data. In the final stage of data analysis, the data were presented in tables in the form of codes, sub-themes and themes, and were supported with direct quotations. As a result of the research, it was determined that the students' positive opinions about the city of Bursa were collected under the headings of city image, natural and historical beauties, social and economic factors, transportation and infrastructure facilities and environmental factors. The students' criticisms of the city of Bursa were collected under the headings of environmental and climate problems, transportation and infrastructure problems, population and density, human behavior and communication and city image. It is seen that the students both identify the traffic and transportation problems in Bursa and offer concrete suggestions, and clearly express the negative feelings this situation creates in them. It has been observed that students have high awareness of environmental problems and that they clearly express the negative emotions these problems create in them. It shows that the students offer a broad perspective on Bursa and reflect the various aspects and emotional ties of the city in their paintings.
