Abstract

Bilişsel gelişimin kültürlerarası çalışmalarında dikkate alınması gereken hususlardan birincisi; bilişsel gelişimin yer aldığı kültürel ve ekolojik çevrenin doğasıdır. İkincisi; bu çevrede gelişen bilişsel yeteneklerinin türüdür. Üçüncüsü ise; kültürel çevre ve bilişsel gelişim arasında var olabilecek ilişkilerin doğasıdır. Bu üç yönlü çalışma programını gerçekleştirebilmek için hem gelişen yetenekierin hem de çevrenin bir bölgesel analizi, ayrıca bu iki alanın her birinde var olabilecek bilişsel örüntülerin karşılaştırmalı bir sentezi yapılmalıdır.

The cross-cultural study of cognitive development must attend to three issues. One is the nature of the ecological and cultural context in which cognitive development takes place. A second is abilities which are developed in that context. Anda third is the nature of the relationships which may exist between the cultural context and the cognitive development. To accomplish this three fold research programme, there must be a local analyst of both the context and the developed abilities, and there must also be a comparative synthesis of the patterns which may exist within each of the two domains.
