Abstract
Tıp eğitiminin en önemli özelliği nasıl verildiği değil hangi dilde verildiğidir. Toplumların başarıyı yakalaması kendi dillerini; karşılıklı iletişimi ise ortak dili kullanmalarına bağlıdır. Bu çalışma, tıp eğitiminde kullandığımız Türkçe’nin ne düzeyde etkin olduğunu tarihsel gelişiminin ışığında ortaya koymayı, günümüzdeki ve yakın gelecekteki durumunun tartışılmasını amaçlayarak hazırlanmıştır. Yıllarca başka dillerin baskısı altında kalan Türkçe’mizin özgür bir dil olarak tıbbî terminolojideki yerini alması gerektiği sonucuna varılmıştır.
The most important feature of medical education is not how it is introduced but in which language it is given. The success of the societies depends on their attachment to their own languages whilst their reciprocal conduct mainly depends on how they use the common language. This study is prepared in order to argue the effectiveness of Turkish language used in medical education from a viewpoint of its historical progression, and also to discuss its situation today and in near future. It was concluded that our language, Turkish, which has been under the influence of other languages for years must acquire its place in medical terminology as an independent language.
