Bursa'da çilek yetiştiriciliği üzerine bir inceleme

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Bursa yöresi çilek yetiştiriciliği 1994 yılında incelenmiş, sorunları tesbit edilmiş ve bunların çözümüne yönelik önerilerde bulunulmuştur. Yörede Ti oya Pocahontas, Aliso ve Yalova-15 çilek çeşitleri yaygın olarak üretilmektedir. Çilek üretimini küçük aile işletmeleri, klasik yöntemlere göre yapmaktadır. Çilek üretimi sırasında görülen en önemli sorunlar: çilek fidesi üretimi için gerekli bir bahçenin bulunmaması ve bu nedenle üreticilerin kendi bahçelerinden elde ettikleri kollardan yeni çilek bahçesi tesis etmeleri, gereği gibi kültürel işlemleri uygulamamalarıdır. Ayrıca, üretim aşamasında hasat, tasnif, ambalaj ve pazarlama koşullarının da yetersiz olduğu söylenebilir. Bu sorunların çözümü için aşağıdaki öneriler verilebilir: Çilek yetiştiriciliğinin değişik safhalarındaki problemleri çözmek için yetiştiricilerin ilgili kuruluşlara başvurması gerekir. Bursa da donmuş ürün endüstrisi gelişmekte olduğundan derin dondurmaya uygun yeni çeşitler belirlenmelidir. Yetiştiricilerin kendi kooperatiflerini kurmaları desteklenmeli, teknik ve ekonomik yönden yetiştiricilere çilek üretiminin nasıl yapılacağı hakkında bilgi verilmelidir.

Strawberry production in Bursa was investigated in 1994; the problems were determined and some suggestions were given in relation to their solutions. Strawberry cultivars widely produced in Bursa are Tioga, Pocahontas, Aliso and Yalova-15. Strawberry production has been carried out by conventional methods in small family farms. The most important problems, occur during strawberry production, are as follows: There is no field to produce strawberry seedlings. Therefore. growers obtain seediings from the runners of the strawberry plants, and they establish new plantations with these seedlings. Cultural applications are not conducted suffıciently by the growers. Moreover, it can be said that harvesting, sorting, packaging and marketing conditions are not sufficient. The following suggestions can be given; Growers should apply to the related institutions to solve their problems at differenl stages of strawberry production. New cultivars. which are suitable to deep freezing, should be determined since frozen food industry has been developed in Bursa. Growers of Bursa vicinity should be supported to establish their cooperatives. Technical and economical know-how of strawberry production should be given to the growers.
