Item Applications of singularity functions for designing farm machinery shafts(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 1992) Okursoy, Rasim; Ziraat Fakültesi; Tarım Makinaları BölümüThe main purpose of this study is to demonstrate that the singularity function as an analytical method, beside the numerical analysis techniques like finite elemenis method, are easily applied to determine design parameters for power transmission shafts which are widely used in fann machineries. The step size is important to integrate singularity functions on computer. Because the T-Solver Plus software performs integration based on the iterations of the step functions, the shear force, moment and the deflection of the shaft at any chosen locations can be easily calculated due to the arbitrarily chosen step size. Depending upon the amount of loads on the shaft, calculated deflection values are used to ftnd out the critical speed of the shaft.Item Relationships between frost resistance and macro and micro element contents of buds of some peach cultivars(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 1992) Burak, Masum; Eriş, Atilla; Ziraat Fakültesi; Bahçe Bitkileri BölümüThere was an important difference between the frost resistance ability of the tested cultivars. However, their frost resistance ability increased from December and reached to maximum in January and February, but decreased in March. Generally, Redhaven was found to be the hardiest cultivar and it was followed by J.H. Hale and Dixired. Among the nutrients nitrogen, calcium and iron were higher in the winter, natrium was lower in the winter and higher in November and March. As a result, it is generalIy concluded that the high level of nitrogen, calcium, iron has a positive correlation with the ability of frost resistance of cultivar.
