Nowadays, it was needed to join the powder metal parts which were manufactured by pressing the metal powders. In this study, 4x12x70 mm3 dimensions powder metal parts are produced by using iron based powder metal material obtained by powder metal techniques. Powder metal parts sintered welded by certain conditions of resistance welding are welded. Mechanical, physical properties and microstructure of welding joint are examined comparatively. Experimental results showed that weldability of iron based powder metal parts which is welded by resistance welding is observed. But, in the welding area, from the point of porosity and microstructure important variation is determined. Variation of physical and mechanical properties together with the welding parameters is examined at the end of experimental studies. Finally optimum welding parameters are determined for ıron-based powder metal parts.
