In the last two centuries Afghanistan has been exposed to invasion of Britain, Soviet Union and lastly The United States of America. These invasions damaged the political, religious, cultural, economic and social structure of the country. Especially the Soviet Union invasion, by damaging the religious structure of Afghan society, ruined the moderate religious understanding of Afghan people. In fhis manner the foreign invasions in Afghanistan as the producer of anomic, traumatic and chaotic conditiorıs have paved the way for the rise of extremist and religiously violent movements as Taliban. Therefore this study will argue that the so-called "religious violence" in Afghanistan stems from socio-political and economic issues. 1
