Abstract
Migration is defined as a change of place within a state or across international borders. The reasons for migration, which has been a phenomenon that has been going on for centuries, have been subject to changes from past to present. In this context, the reasons for migrations, its types, and he status of migration in Turkey and the world arementioned. When evaluated specifically for Turkey, since the 1980s, Turkey's positionwithin the scope of international migration has changed from a sending country to atransit and immigration country. Turkey has become a target country for immigrantswho want to get away from the civil wars taking place around Turkey or who carry outforced migration. In this regard, Syrian immigrants, who have an important place onTurkey's agenda, are the subject of this study.Migration, within the scope of voluntary migration, can occur as people choose to movefor reasons such as education or marriage, or it can happen compulsorily due to reasonslike war, civil unrest, or oppression, as in the case in question. In this regard, as is thecase in every forced migration process, Syrian immigrants have faced some problemsin adapting to this process and the society they came from. It has been a difficult processfor Syrians who have had to leave their jobs, order, culture, friendships and homes tolive in a different country, and it has equally been challenging for the host society toadapt to a different group. In this context, the role of social exclusion and lifesatisfaction was evaluated and analyzed within the scope of explaining the socialadaptation processes of Syrian refugees residing in Turkey and under temporaryprotection. In addition, the role of social exclusion and life satisfaction, such as spatialexclusion, economic exclusion, political exclusion, cultural exclusion, along withsocio-demographic variables that affect the social integration of Syrian immigrantswith refugee status who are forced to reside within the borders of Turkey, have beenexamined more comprehensively. Logistic Regression Analysis has been utilized toanalyze the data obtained within the scope of the study.
